Introduction

Control flow Technologies Limited is working across the UK to deliver Control Flow water saving product installations to customers. We may need to collect some of your personal information and share this with other organisations. We will only collect and use personal data in ways that are described here, in a way that is consistent with our obligations and your rights under the law (General Data Protection Regulation 2018).

The personal data we collect and use:

  • We currently collect and process the following information:
  • Your name and address
  • Your phone number and email address (so you can be contacted as necessary for the purpose outlined in this notice)
  • Your financial information for payment purposes.


How we get the personal information and why we have it:

You provide most of the personal information that we use to carry out the Control Flow installation.

We will tell you if providing some of your personal data is optional.


Using your personal data: legal basis and purpose

The lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

  • Your consent. You can remove your consent at any time by contacting the Data Protection Officer. Contact details are below.
  • As necessary to fulfil our contract with you, e.g. (the installation of Control Flow water saving product(s) into your property).
  • As necessary to pursue our legitimate interests
  • To share your data with third parties who may be working in partnership with us to carry out the work (as specified under ‘Sharing your personal data’).
  • As necessary to comply with a legal obligation, e.g. where you exercise your rights to make requests under data protection law.


Sharing your personal data

We may be required to share your personal data with:

  • The engineer and/or plumber visiting your property to complete the works.
  • The water company.
  • Anyone else where it is required by law, where you have been notified of the sharing or for whom we have your consent. 
  • Your data will only be processed for purposes relating to the installation of Control Flow water saving product(s), unless you have specifically consented otherwise.


Criteria used to determine data retention periods

We may retain your personal data for up to 12 months following installation of Control Flow water saving product(s).


Your rights, including accessing your data or amending incorrect data

You have certain rights regarding information held about you by the Controller (these do not apply in all circumstances). These include the right:

  • to access your personal data;
  • to be informed about our processing of your personal data;
  • to have incorrect data corrected;
  • to data portability (to move, copy or transfer your personal data);
  • to have your personal data deleted; and
  • to have the processing of your personal data restricted, or to object to processing of your personal data.


Financial Information

We will do all that we reasonably can to ensure that the information you give us when paying for the services is secure by using an encrypted secure payment mechanism. However, in the absence of negligence on our part, any failure by us to comply with this Privacy Policy or breach by us of our duties under applicable laws, we will not be legally responsible to you for any loss that you may suffer if a third party gains unauthorised access to any information that you give us.

How to complain


If you have any concerns about our use of your personal information, you can make a complaint to us using our complaints procedure.
You can also complain to the ICO if you are unhappy with how we have used your data.
